Heading out for a last-minute trip this upcoming long weekend? Last-minute getaways are exciting but how do you prepare when there's only a moment’s notice? We've been through that struggle as impromptu trip enthusiasts! That's why we came up with an essentials list for a getaway (Labor Day intended). Cover these 4 points and you'll be prepared for any trip!
The best of Thanksgiving: Pumpkin pie, laughing with the family, sleeping in late. The worst of Thanksgiving: long lines at the airport, holiday-shopping mayhem, fighting with said family. We know the holidays can be both wonderful and stressful. That's why we're thinking ahead for you. Keep reading for the perfect long-weekend packing list.
Thursday: Quality time with the family. The Lean On Me Boy Tee is perfectly comfy and cute for lounging around and assisting in meal-prep.
Thursday Night: Slip into the Stripe Rib Midi Dress for dinner: chic, sleek, and lots of stretch.
Friday: Emerge from your food coma and hit the stores for some holiday shopping. The La Parisienne Long Sleeve is perfect for layering and cozy enough for all-day wear.
Saturday: Throw on the Striped Pocket Long Sleeve for a day of kicking back and enjoying those leftovers while they last.
Sunday: Keep calm and head to the airport. The Striped Side Zip Tunic will keep you warm on the long flight back.
The new season is in full swing, which means it's time to plan that perfect Fall trip. This year, we were craving a road trip up the beautiful coast of California, and so we did just that. It turned out to be the perfect cool-weather getaway - the shoreline is beautiful all year long but starts to feel magical as the sky turns a shade darker and the air starts to chill.
As our Fall '16 collection is built around the notion of this trip, we didn't take these travel plans lightly. We planned each stop diligently and scouted the most beautiful spots in each destination. We ultimately mastered the ultimate California-Coast adventure, so we figure it's only right to share with you here. Enjoy!
As every Sundry girl knows, each of our collections is designed to be worn on the go, and Fall 2016 is no different. This season, Matthieu (the man behind the brand) wanted to create a capsule wardrobe based on the idea of a trip up the California coast. For inspiration, he turned to vintage photographs and elements of the landscape surrounding us – images of desert plants and wide sandy beaches went up on the wall, and the collection moved forward.
If you’re keeping it LA-local for the holiday weekend, we’ve got your covered. Keep reading for a carefully curated list of activities to enjoy in the city of angels.
Sample the best of LA: The Taste food festival is happening at the Paramount Backlot on September 4th.
Cool off with a cone: Our favorite is Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream in Los Feliz. Try the Pistachio!
Stop by the Sundry Pop-Up: Spend $100+ and get a sunshine-ready “Drift Away” Tank (pictured above) on us! The store will be open Saturday + Sunday, so come on over and say bonjour: 8840 Washington Blvd #104, Culver City, CA 90232.
Brush up on your classics: The Cinecon Classic Film Festival will be screening over 30 classic films at the Egyptian Theatre Sunday – Monday.
End your day at the beach: At five LA beaches, it’s legal to start your own bonfire – in our opinion, the perfect activity for a summer night by the sea.

As a beach brand, we usually find our attention geared toward warm-weather phenomena (beach days, palm trees, and the like). But, when we came upon photographer Richard Johnson’s ice huts series, we felt instantly inspired. The huts are bright and eclectic – each a unique representation of its owner.
Over the course of eight years, Johnson has created an extensive archive of these tiny huts stationed across Canada. Mainly constructed from sheet metal and plywood, the huts are meant to provide only the bare necessities for ice fishermen. Still, with form directly meeting function, their no-frills aesthetic is a true visual treat. Enjoy:
We’re excited to feature one of our favorite spots in LA, owned by longtime Sundry friend Benjamin Trigano and his family. Deemed “One of the Best Hotels in the World” by Travel + Leisure, Mama Shelter is turning the Hollywood hotel scene upside down. With reasonably priced rooms, the six-location boutique hotel caters to a diverse mix of shelter-seekers. But that doesn’t mean it’s lacking in style or quality.
We hate feeling unprepared right before a trip and, with the holiday weekend creeping up quickly, we thought we might be able to help you out (and say “merci”) by thinking ahead for you. We know that a Thanksgiving packing list calls for a delicate balance of comfort and style, and we think these pieces accomplish exactly that. Enjoy!
When we were thinking of how we wanted the Summer 2015 Lookbook to be shot, I was also thinking of the places I wanted to explore here in California. You know how it is - living in a place, taking holidays far away, and not having seen enough of what is around you. I have always wanted to surf the Channel Islands. My friends had told me about how beautiful they were, the trip there (only accessible by boat), see through waters, desolate landscapes of small islands that drop into the Pacific Ocean, mainly empty, and glorious waves. I pictured a day's adventure out there, the road trip and the destination being the cadence for the season's looks.
So we got up at dawn, very early, coffee in the cupholders of the cars, and started the drive to Ventura Harbor from Venice Beach. The Channel Islands are north of LA, parallel and West of Ventura, and there are 5 of them that are National Parks. Preserved, protected, and no population on most of them at all. Other than a lot of wildlife.
If you lived in sunny Sayulita, Mexico, you would already know her. Paola Lopez has an infectious and bright personality. She surfs religiously and owns a boutique full of art, fashion and homewares. Paola is a loved personality of her town and has been a friend of Sundry since the beginning. It only makes sense that we would ask her to be one of our brand ambassadors!
We spent a little time recently with her, wanting to know more of her background and what makes her smile so often. But first, about vacations from a woman who lives in a town most of us would love to escape to…
