It wouldn’t be hard to guess that we’re head over heels for German-born model Isabel Beretz. The LA-transplant has been featured in three Sundry campaigns, and is now the face of the Spring 2017 collection. A true Sundry girl, Isabel is usually traveling the globe, and shines brightly everywhere she goes. We caught up with our lovely friend to learn more about where she comes from, her best travel tips, and her affinity for German bread.
How did you get into modeling?
After school, my roommate asked me to model for her fashion design presentation. I found it fun, and the teacher asked me if I have ever thought about doing this professionally. I started modeling while studying so I just thought of it as a side job at first, but toward the end of my studies it really took off.
What would you be doing if you weren’t a model?
I think I’d want to be a photographer. From my experience modeling, I’ve grown to really appreciate the art of photography.
Your career calls for a lot of traveling. Any tips for staying grounded with such a busy schedule?
I try to treat myself well by cooking at home and working out as much as possible while I’m in LA. While I’m traveling, I Facetime or Skype all the time to stay connected to the people I love.
Three items you never leave without:
Homeoplasmine cream – this stuff is amazing. You can use it anywhere – your face, cuticles. A lot of makeup artists use it as a primer. I love it as a lip balm.
A good book - I have a lot of down time while traveling, so I always have something to read on hand. Right now, I’m in the middle of the Autobiography of a Yogi. It’s great.
Mason Pearson brush – it’s really the best. I take mine everywhere.
What do you miss the most about your hometown?
Besides my family… the bread. It’s hard to find here in the US – real German bread is very dense with a lot of different grains. It’s crusty on the outside, but fluffy inside. And it’s the best when it’s still warm!
Sundry is the best! Everything is so cute and comfortable. The perfect outfits for traveling.
A big thank you to Isabel!
